DEPARTURE REGULATIONS
Polish citizens enjoy the right of free movement of people within the European Economic Area. The document which allows you to enter and stay (regardless of the purpose of your stay) in the territory of Germany is either a passport or an identity card (old or new type). Before you leave, you should make sure that your document is in a good enough condition and allows establishing your identity (you should pay particular attention, in case of old-type identity cards, to the validity of your photo)
Before you leave, you should ensure that your passport has at least 3 months validity beyond the time of your stay.
Carriage of pet animals. From October 1, 2004 a dog, cat or ferret accompanying its owner in his trip to Germany (as well as other EU member states) must have a passport, which is required by the EU law. In order to obtain a passport for an animal, it is necessary to provide the documents containing the owner’s personal details and information including the name, species, breed, sex, date of birth and colour of a dog (cat, ferret). It is also necessary to present vaccination and animal health certificates. The animal should bear an electronic identification system in the form of a chip whose number and place is specified in the passport. Although the passport provides a special space for the animal’s photo, it is not required. Passports are issued by the veterinary clinics listed on the website of the National Veterinary Association.
SELECTED CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
According to the EU standard, customs control may be carried out in the whole territory of a country. It is advisable to have receipts for items which are carried from Germany. “Paint ball” shooting equipment is treated in Germany as firearms. It is allowed to carry such equipment into Germany or through Germany without a special permit but it must be marked with letter “F”. If the equipment is not marked in this way, the German authorities require a firearms license or the European firearms pass and a document certifying the purpose of travelling with firearms.

The EU new rules regarding hand baggage
The new regulations regarding hand baggage apply on all flights which start at the EU airports as well as those in the United Kingdom and Switzerland regardless of the flight destination (also flights within Germany and within Europe).
From November 2006, passengers may carry a limited amount of liquids on board of the plane.
Liquids or gels such as, for example, cosmetics and beauty articles, may be carried in cabin baggage (hand baggage) if they meet the following requirements:
- containers with liquids or similar substances cannot exceed 100 ml (the basis is the maximum amount determined on the container)
- all single containers must be carried in a transparent lockable plastic bag which cannot exceed the capacity of 1 litre ( for example, in a bag with a zip fastener)
- only one bag is permitted to each person; passengers must provide such bags on their own
- a bag should be presented separately at a control point. We do not accept responsibility for any objects which are not allowed to carry
